 How to make an origami crane

I will talk about how to make an origami crane. Origami crane means a crane-shaped thing made by square paper. It is one of the most popular origami works. We make origami crane when we have wish and prayer. For example, when we have a match of club activities, and we want to illness to be cured.

When I was a junior high school student, I belonged to a brass band club. The club attend a contest in summer every year. We had made Senbaduru for getting award in the contest. Senbaduru is many origami cranes connected by thread. All member of the club cooperate to complete Senbaduru. When I was a first junior high school student, we made colorful Senbaduru. But we made gold Senbaduru by using all gold origami. It was very luxury.

 

Let’s make an origami crane.

1, Place the origami so that the corners are in front of you, turn the white side up, and fold it so that it is a triangle half wide.

2, Overlap and fold the left and right coeners.

3, Insert your finger into the bag-shaped part, and fold it into a square shape while opening.

4, Turn over and do step3 again.

5, Align the left and right corners with the center fold and fold so that the lower half is triangular.

6, Rotate 90 degrees to the right, turn one sheet from the left corner, and open inside. And fold it in the valley with the fold you made in step5.

7, Turn over and do step5 and step6 again.

8,  Fold the lower right and lower left sides to align with the center vertical axis. Turn over and do it again.

9, Fold one sheet on the right side to the left, fold the bottom corner up, and stay in the middle. Turn over and do it again.

10, Fold one sheet on the right side to the left side, Turn over and do it again.

11, Fold one tip of the elongated part. Spread the feather part. It is completed!

 

For make beautiful origami cranes, it is important to do carefully each step. For example, there are the things that tighten the folds and fold so that the back side of origami is not visible.
